The Ubiquiti UDR7 UniFi Dream Router is a desktop unified access point and gateway designed for small-to-medium enterprise networks and high-performance residential deployments. It consolidates routing, switching, and wireless access into a single form factor, eliminating the need for separate infrastructure components. The UDR7 combines a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor running at 1.5 GHz with native WiFi 7 (802.11be) support, delivering 10G-class throughput for environments requiring unified network management and low-latency connectivity.
The UDR7 operates across universal AC input (100–240V, 50/60 Hz) with a 50W internal AC/DC power supply, consuming 26W during standard operation. Its polycarbonate desktop enclosure measures ⌀110 × 184.1 mm and weighs 1.1 kg, making it suitable for placement in reception areas, network closets, or distributed office environments. The unit includes three Ethernet ports for management and wired client connectivity, all routed through a single Ethernet management interface.
WiFi 7 (802.11be) functionality is complemented by backward compatibility with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards, ensuring seamless integration with legacy client devices. The Ubiquiti UDR7 incorporates ESD protection rated at ±8 kV (air) and ±4 kV (contact), with an operating temperature range of -10 to 40°C. The device is NDAA compliant and carries CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel certifications.
Deploy the UDR7 as a primary access point in small office or branch office environments where a unified controller and wireless gateway reduce operational overhead. It functions effectively as a secondary or redundant access point in larger UniFi deployments, leveraging its 10G throughput capabilities for backhaul or client-facing WiFi 7 coverage. The compact form factor and modest 15W power budget (PoE excluded) suit power-constrained installations or remote sites with limited electrical infrastructure.
The UDR7 integrates natively with the UniFi ecosystem, managed through Ethernet-based provisioning and the UniFi Network Controller. Three Ethernet ports support mixed deployment topologies—wired uplink, local switching, and PoE delivery to downstream UniFi devices. The Ubiquiti UDR7 supports centralized monitoring and policy enforcement across both wired and wireless segments, reducing the complexity of multi-site networks.
Mount the UDR7 on a desktop, shelf, or wall-mounted enclosure using its compact footprint. Provide universal AC power (100–240V, 1.5A max) via the integrated power supply. Connect the primary Ethernet uplink and provision through the UniFi Network Controller for immediate integration into existing infrastructure. ESD precautions are recommended during installation in static-sensitive environments.
"The Ubiquiti UDR7 bridges the gap between entry-level access points and full gateway appliances. Integrators often overlook its value in branch deployments where unified management and WiFi 7 performance matter equally. The MPN UDR7 spec sheet confirms quad-core processing and 10G-class throughput—solid for networks transitioning to WiFi 7 while maintaining backward compatibility. Its low power footprint and native UniFi integration make it a practical alternative to modular stacks where space is limited."
